Philadelphus lewisii (above), also known as Lewis’s mockorange,
is probably better known in Idaho as Syringa, where it
is the state flower.

Why buy native plants/ benefit of native plants:

Already adapted to the local area so survivability is increased.
Adapted to the soil. Adapted to the heat and cold of an area (hardiness zone)(click here for hardiness zone map of Idaho).
Lower maintenance costs because natives are adapted to the landscape and require fewer resources, such as water.
They create wildlife sanctuaries, especially for the native wildlife associated with those plants.
Natives will reduce weed invasion as they out- compete invasive species.
